Robert Christopher English

A lifelong Louisvillian, Bob English has been helping clients for over 50 years.  In his distinguished career, he has helped thousands of clients with the purchase and sale of their homes.  As the Mayor the City of Hurstbourne for nine years, Bob tackled many municipal issues.  With a focus on the family, Bob has helped many friends and clients with estate planning issues to facilitate a smooth probate process.  He walks his clients through the probate process with compassion and understanding.

Bob is a graduate of the University of Louisville Brandies School of Law, Bellarmine University and St. Xavier High School.  He served as President and Trustee for the Old Kentucky Real Estate Investment Trust, was Assistant Law Director for the City of Louisville.

In his spare time, Bob enjoys playing golf and watching the Louisville Cardinals.  He lives in Louisville with his wife of nearly 60 years, Judith.  They have five children, ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Colleen English Balderson

Colleen English Balderson joined her father at the firm in 2006 after graduating from Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law.  She is licensed to practice law in Kentucky and Indiana.  She focuses her practice in real estate and title law, incorporations of small businesses, estate planning and probate.

Colleen is driven by a passion to help others.  She spent a year as a full-time volunteer with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps/Americorps in Mesa, Arizona after attending the University of Dayton, and Sacred Heart Academy.  Whether a family is purchasing a home, starting a small business, or probating the estate of loved one, Colleen’s sincerely commitment to serving others helps create peace of mind during what could be some of the most stressful times of a person’s life.  

Colleen also volunteers her time teaching classes at local real estate companies and the Great Louisville Association of Realtors.  She is on the Associate Board of the Coalition for the Homeless, and volunteers at Kentucky Refugee Ministries.  She is an active member of St. Margaret Mary Church with her husband, Allen, and their children, Christopher and Annie.

Mike English

Mike English recently joined the firm.  He pursued his Juris Doctorate from Chase Law School as a second career, however, he is no stranger to the real estate world.  While pursuing his undergraduate degree at the University of Louisville, Mike ran title for hundreds of closings.  In the 1990s, Mike was a homebuilder with his brothers at English Built Homes.  Thereafter, Mike used his knowledge of homebuilding to become a home inspector, which he did for over a decade before deciding to go law school.  Mike focuses his practice on real estate transactions, new construction, and working with investors. 

In his spare time, Mike enjoys playing golf and watching sports with his family.  He lives in Louisville with his wife of over 20 years, Karen, and their children, Matthew and Abigale.

Tom Simms

Tom Simms joined the English Law Group in 2015 after a thirty-two year career in education.  He earned his BA and MAT from the University of Louisville and his JD from Northern Kentucky Chase School of Law.  Having taught at Trinity High School and then St. Xavier High School, Tom has encountered many people on their journey.  His mission has always been to serve and he continues his calling by serving people with their real estate needs, estate planning, probate and legal issues that arise.

Tom is an active member in the community including his parish, Ascension of Our Lord.  He is regular volunteer at Ronald McDonald House and St. John Day Center for Homeless Men.  Tom continues to coach soccer at St. X.
