Mike English, partner

Mike English recently joined the firm.  He pursued his Juris Doctorate from Chase Law School as a second career, however, he is no stranger to the real estate world.  While pursuing his undergraduate degree at the University of Louisville, Mike ran title for hundreds of closings.  In the 1990s, Mike was a homebuilder with his brothers at English Built Homes.  Thereafter, Mike used his knowledge of homebuilding to become a home inspector, which he did for over a decade before deciding to go law school.  Mike focuses his practice on real estate transactions, new construction, and working with investors.

In his spare time, Mike enjoys playing golf and watching sports with his family.  He lives in Louisville with his wife of over 20 years, Karen, and their children, Matthew and Abigale.

Robert Christopher English, Sr., Founding Partner (1934-2022)

Bob graduated from Brandeis School of Law in 1964 and began a prolific career in both real estate law and real estate development. Among many of the positions that he served, he was President of Old Kentucky Real Estate Investments Trust for 14 years, Mayor of the City of Hurstbourne for 10 years, and Director of Jefferson County League of Cities for 9 years. He founded Cherokee Title Co. and English Law Group and ran both for 39 years. Bob loved both golf and law and practiced both until he physically could do neither.

He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on October 26, 1934. Bob grew up in St. Matthews and spent his childhood immersed in playing multiple sports both on school teams and with neighborhood friends. He attended Holy Spirit Grade School and graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1952. He received his undergraduate degree from Bellarmine University in 1956 and then served in the U.S. Army where he earned the rank of Specialist 4th Class in two years and was stationed at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. Bob returned to Louisville after his military service, where he met his beloved wife of 62 years, Judy. They were married on June 25th, 1960, at Holy Spirit Church, and soon after began his most important and cherished endeavor – his family.

While Bob loved the practice of law, he practiced his faith more than anything else. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Margaret Mary Parish for over 40 years. A man known for kindness and generosity, he extended his love to everyone he met.
